Genesys Works is a national leader in providing pathways to career success for high school students in underserved communities through skills training, meaningful work experiences, and impactful relationships. We are growing our impact by launching a new Genesys Works site in Jacksonville, FL in 2024. We have an exciting opportunity to join the Jacksonville team as Program Manager.

The Program Manager, reporting to the Executive Director of Genesys Works Jacksonville, will play a key leadership role at the site. This position is responsible for shaping and overseeing the full student (Young Professional) experience, including recruitment, training, internships, retention, and alumni engagement. The Program Manager will ensure Young Professionals receive high-quality summer training, are well-supported throughout their internships, and gain the skills and confidence needed for long-term career success. As the Jacksonville site grows, the Program Manager will lead a team of Program Coordinators (who directly support students), cultivate partnerships with schools and community organizations, and work with corporate partners to create impactful internship experiences. The role is a hybrid role and will engage in frequent in-person meetings in the Jacksonville area (e.g. with school, community, and corporate partners).

Working in collaboration with other leaders and colleagues, the Program Manager’s responsibilities are as follows:

Duties and Responsibilities

Program Management

  • Oversee and participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of Genesys Works student curriculum, including Summer Training, internships, College & Career Connections (CCC), and alumni services
  • Lead the prospective student recruitment and selection process for new classes of Young Professionals and meet yearly application goals
  • Plan student events and ensure they are a positive experience for students, partners, and staff
  • Create culture and community within the cohort of Young Professionals
  • Manage, monitor, and analyze program data to surface opportunities for programmatic improvements to drive student success and overall program effectiveness and impact
  • Oversee and participate in administrative and logistical activities to support program operations
  • Create a transportation plan and budget to ensure all students can attend their internships daily, and return home, in a safe and timely manner
  • Assist site leadership in creating and managing the program budget
  • Participate in recurring cross-site meetings to collaborate and share best practices with leaders from the broader Genesys Works network

People Management

  • Participate in the selection, onboarding, and development of Program Coordinator(s) as the site grows; lead, mentor and support a team of Program Coordinators and oversee professional development and performance management of the program team
  • Train and coach staff in facilitation, advising, and relationship management skills, ensuring they provide high quality services to students, corporate partners, and schools; ensure program team members achieve department goals

Partnership Management

  • Establish positive, strategic partnerships with school staff to enable student recruitment and program participation, ensuring strong, long-term relationships
  • Collaborate with the Corporate Partnerships team to achieve corporate partner outcomes, including efforts to strengthen relationships, secure internship placements, secure renewals, resolve issues, and identify in-demand skills needed for Young Professionals to thrive in their internships

Skillset

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in program management, education, youth development, or non-profit management required
  • Track record of successfully managing teams and driving program outcomes strongly preferred
  • Excellent relationship management skills; experience working with corporate partners and/or educational institutions strongly preferred
  • Communicates effectively in meetings, presentations, and writing
  • Adeptly determines objectives, sets priorities, and delegates
  • Manages projects proactively and with strong attention to detail
  • Analyzes metrics to assess individual and team performance, ensuring that core goals are accomplished
  • Thoughtfully facilitates meetings and trainings (and effectively uses collaboration tools like Zoom and Microsoft Teams in virtual settings)
  • Has experience advising high school youth on college and career development
  • Confidently works in Microsoft 365 applications and customer relationship management (CRM) software (namely Salesforce)
