Genesys Works is a nonprofit organization that trains and employs high school seniors to perform professional services for major corporations. Our mission is to provide pathways to career success for high school students in underserved communities through skills training, meaningful internships, and impactful relationships.
Purpose of Position
The Marketing Coordinator supports the execution of Genesys Works Houston’s marketing, communications, and internal culture initiatives. This role plays a key operational and creative support function across digital communications, internal engagement, content production, and cross-departmental collaboration.
The Marketing Coordinator will ensure that external messaging remains consistent and compelling while also strengthening internal communication systems that promote clarity, engagement, and organizational culture.
The Senior Manager will benefit from this role through a dedicated focus on strengthening external storytelling, elevating corporate partner visibility, and amplifying alumni narratives that support corporate engagement and revenue growth. By increasing brand clarity and showcasing measurable impact, the Marketing Coordinator helps deepen partnerships and expand internship seat opportunities for students.
This role requires strong organizational skills, creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to translate ideas into action.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing & Content Execution (30%)
- Manage social media scheduling, posting, and engagement across digital platforms including quarterly corporate partner recognition posts.
- Draft, format, assist and submit internal and external newsletters.
- Develop milestone recognition templates for seat growth and multi-year commitments.
- Support video storytelling initiatives and coordinate light production workflows.
- Translate program results into visually compelling, partner-ready content.
- Coordinate photo and video shoots as needed.
- Develop promotional timelines for networking and fundraising events.
- Track event engagement metrics and support follow-up storytelling.
- Maintain marketing content calendars and track deliverables.
- Support development and fundraising campaigns through content creation and asset coordination.
- Monitor engagement metrics and compile basic performance reports.
Brand & Asset Management (20%)
- Maintain brand consistency across all internal and external materials.
- Update one-pagers, sponsorship decks, and program collateral as needed.
- Assist with the Management of photo and video asset library with tagging and organization.
- Support to ensure event signage and materials align with brand standards.
Podcast & Executive Content Support (10%)
- Set podcast themes and develop a quarterly content plan aligned with organizational priorities.
- Identify and recruit executive and partner guests.
- Coordinate recording schedules and manage light production workflow.
- Partner with MarComm to promote episodes and share key takeaways across channels.
Internal Communications & Culture Engagement (20%)
Level Up & All-Staff Meetings
- Design agendas and run-of-show documents.
- Coordinate logistics and facilitation preparation.
- Capture key takeaways, decisions, and follow-up items.
- Ensure meetings translate into clarity, alignment, and action.
Cowbell Circle (Weekly)
- Facilitate weekly Cowbell Circle sessions.
- Highlight wins, milestones, and moments of gratitude.
- Surface morale signals and emerging themes to leadership.
- Reinforce a culture of belonging, appreciation, and celebration.
Bi-Weekly Pulse
- Compile and distribute the bi-weekly Pulse communication.
- Spotlight staff and young professionals.
- Identify patterns, insights, and emerging themes.
- Flag culture or engagement trends for leadership awareness.
Project Coordination & Operational Support (20%)
- Coordinate logistics and materials for marketing campaigns and events.
- Maintain organized marketing assets and shared documentation systems.
- Track project timelines and ensure deadlines are met.
- Support Senior Manager of Marketing with special projects as assigned.
- Assist in monitoring analytics and compiling performance reports.

Qualifications
- 2–4 years of experience in marketing, communications, or related field.
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or related discipline preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience managing social media platforms and digital content tools.
- Experience supporting internal communications or organizational engagement initiatives preferred.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
