If you’re passionate about opening doors for young people and helping them discover what’s possible in the world of business and technology, this role offers the opportunity to make a deep and lasting impact.

Why This Role Matters

Imagine a student who has never seen themselves in a corporate setting—bright, capable, and eager, but unsure where to begin. Eight weeks later, because of your guidance, they’ll walk into their first internship confident in their skills, comfortable with professional tools, and ready to contribute on day one.

As a Business Operations & Technology Trainer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping these journeys. You won’t just teach software or technical concepts—you will help young people discover new possibilities, build confidence, and step into their potential as emerging professionals. You will be part of the first team launching Genesys Works Nashville, making your impact even more meaningful as we bring our proven model to a new community.

As the Business Operations & Technology Trainer, you will:

  • Teach entry-level business and technology skills to a cohort of up to 35 rising high school seniors.
  • Collaborate with the Program Coordinator and full-time Genesys Works staff to deliver high-quality curriculum, set expectations, model professionalism, and create a supportive, accountable learning environment.
  • Grade assignments, status reports, and evaluations—and record them accurately and on time.
  • Coach, mentor, and guide students throughout the summer training program as they develop communication, professional, and technical skills.

The Business Operations & Technology Trainer role is for you if you're:

  • An Experienced Business & Technology Professional who brings real-world corporate insight and understands core areas like business operations, Microsoft Office, and basic technology skills.
  • A Skilled Communicator who explains complex ideas clearly and knows how to engage students from diverse backgrounds.
  • A Classroom Leader that commands a room with presence, empathy, and structure.
  • A Youth Development Advocate who believes deeply in the potential of young people and understand the importance of opportunity and exposure.
  • A Flexible, Solution-Oriented Thinker who adapt quickly when something isn’t working and help students do the same.
  • Mission-Driven bringing heart, humor, and commitment to educational equity—and you want to make a difference.

As the Business Operations & Technology Trainer, you will need the following to be successful:

  • Certifications, credentialing, or a college degree in a business or technology-related field.
  • Experience teaching business or technology skills, or professional experience in a business/IT role.
  • Knowledge of one or more of the following:
    • Business Operations
    • Human Resources
    • Marketing
    • Finance
    • Microsoft Office Suite
    • Project Management
    • Information Technology
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and foster an inclusive learning environment.

Physical Requirements

This role may involve standing, sitting, speaking loudly and clearly, and using classroom tools such as computers, projectors, and whiteboards. It also requires close visual acuity for reviewing assignments, analyzing data, and working on a computer. Most work environments are climate-controlled with open-space layouts.
