Salary Range: 90K-105K

Position Summary

The Agile Execution Lead will play a critical role in advancing agile maturity within the IT function and across the organization. This role is responsible for guiding teams in agile best practices, facilitating sprint execution, and ensuring consistent delivery within two-week sprint cycles. The Agile Execution Lead will drive alignment between business and technology teams, enable a culture of collaboration and transparency, and use metric-driven insights to support continuous improvement and performance accountability.

Reporting to the Chief Information Officer

Working in collaboration with other leaders and colleagues, the Agile Execution Lead (Scrum Master) will be responsible for the following:

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead and coach the team (Scrum and Kanban) to adopt and implement agile methodologies, promoting open communication, collaboration, and continuous improvement aligned with organizational goals.

  • Facilitate agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives—ensuring consistency and effectiveness across all teams.

  • Partner with functional leads and stakeholders to ensure product scope, goals, and backlog priorities are clearly defined, visible, and aligned with business value.

  • Coordinate agile execution across multiple concurrent projects to ensure predictable and consistent delivery within two-sprint cycles.

  • Track, analyze, and report on key agile delivery metrics (velocity, burndown, throughput, cycle time, and flow metrics) to provide visibility into team performance and drive data-driven improvements.

  • Develop and maintain dashboards and executive reporting to monitor progress, delivery health, and alignment with roadmap commitments.

  • Remove impediments, escalate organizational barriers, and manage cross-team dependencies to support smooth delivery and team autonomy.

  • Foster a culture of experimentation, innovation, and accountability—coaching teams and leadership in agile mindset, values, and continuous improvement.

  • Promote adoption and consistent use of agile tools and frameworks for planning, tracking, and reporting (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, Confluence).

  • Conduct team health assessments, retrospectives, and continuous improvement workshops to identify trends and recommend actionable steps for enhanced performance.

  • Partner with IT and business leadership to align agile delivery with broader portfolio management, governance, and transformation initiatives.

  • Support agile training, coaching, and community of practice development across the organization to elevate overall agility and delivery maturity.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), or equivalent agile certification.

  • Experience leading multiple agile teams or serving as a Release Train Engineer (RTE) in a scaled environment.

  • Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD, and modern software delivery pipelines.

  • Exposure to digital transformation or enterprise IT modernization initiatives.

  • Experience developing executive-level performance reports or dashboards for portfolio oversight.

  • Experience applying agile principles beyond IT—across business operations, programs, or process teams.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate has the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.

  • 3–5 years of experience as a Scrum Master, Agile Delivery Lead, or similar role supporting agile teams.

  • Demonstrated success facilitating agile ceremonies and managing delivery within short sprint cycles.

  • Strong understanding of agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe) and agile scaling practices.

  • Proficiency with agile project management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.

  • Proven ability to analyze and interpret team performance metrics and translate data into meaningful insights.

  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and conflict resolution skills.

  • Ability to influence and coach diverse teams toward agile maturity.

  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, with attention to team performance and delivery metrics.
